Hey there, thanks for visiting Holiday Cape Town. Let me introduce myself… I’m Elizabeth and I’ve travelled to Cape Town as a tourist and lived there too. With this unique perspective I’m going to share my top tourist attractions and activities. I hope some of them capture your imagination!
Cape Town Attractions

Cape Town is known for its outstanding natural beauty, diverse culture and wide range of activities.
One of the first things you’ll notice when you arrive is the amazing scenery. Cape Town is surrounded by mountains and beaches, which makes it a perfect destination for outdoor pursuits.
Majestic Table Mountain

The iconic Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain with panoramic sights of the city and surrounding coast. Hike up the mountain or take a cable car to the top and enjoy the sweeping views of the city and ocean.
Chic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is a must-see attraction. This bustling hub of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, includes the renowned Two Oceans Aquarium.
Take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront and enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants and cafes. It’s a great place to shop for souvenirs where you can find everything from African art to handcrafted jewellery.
Top off your day with a serene champagne harbour cruise at sunset.
Breathtaking Parks

There are several nature reserves and parks in and around the city, such as the excellent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve offers opportunities for hiking, bird watching and wildlife spotting. Mind the baboons!
Poignant Robben Island
Robben Island is one of the most popular attractions amongst the wealth of cultural and historical sites in Cape Town. There are many things to discover about it, but the island is best known as a former gaol where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for several years during the apartheid era.
Historic Castle of Good Hope

The city has a fascinating past and you may like to visit the Castle of Good Hope, a 17th century fort built by the Dutch East India Company. It’s the oldest colonial structure in not only Cape Town, but South Africa.
Spectacular Beaches

Cape Town is known for its beautiful beaches, such as Clifton Beaches and Camps Bay Beach. The water is crystal clear, but very cold! Put a towel on the sand and sit and enjoy views of the coastline. It’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.
Sumptuous Food and Wine on Your Holiday in Cape Town
If you’re interested in food and wine, Cape Town is the place to be. It’s home to some of the best restaurants in South Africa, serving everything from local cuisine to international favourites.
Sample local delicacies such as biltong (dried meat), boerewors (sausage), bobotie (baked curried mince with egg-based topping) and bunny chow (spicy curry in a hollowed-out roll). Or indulge in international favourites like seafood, sushi, pizza and burgers.

There are also many vineyards in the surrounding areas, where you can sample some of the country’s best wines.
